Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (455) - TAI WO HAU HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters
Whilst proceeding to the Start, C Y Ho was dislodged from CHAPARRAL STAR which then travelled for some distance riderless.
Acting on veterinary advice that CHAPARRAL STAR was not suitable to race, it was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, CHAPARRAL STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
C Y Ho was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer who said that he was fit to fulfil his immediate race riding engagement.
HURRICANE HUNTER stumbled at the start and then was bumped by ROCKAGE which shifted out, causing ROCKAGE and HURRICANE HUNTER to become unbalanced.
HURRICANE HUNTER was then crowded for room a short distance after the start between ROCKAGE and SOLAR BILLION (H W Lai) which shifted in.
H W Lai was reprimanded and told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
BRING IT ON stumbled at the start.
From a wide barrier, MONEY WINNER was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
After the 1000 Metres, GOLDEN GENERAL was left racing wide and without cover.
At the entrance to the Straight, CHIU CHOW KID shifted out and bumped MONEY WINNER.
Passing the 150 Metres, AMAZING AGILITY got its head on the side and shifted out away from HURRICANE HUNTER which shifted out under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of GOOD RUNNERS WAY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
REGENCY GEM and AMAZING AGILITY were sent for sampling.

Favourite Regency Gem just held on after hitting the front 250m out sitting on the leader's back for a first win at his 15th start. He had been threatening all season long and relished a step back to the 1,600m. Amazing Agility closed well from midfield to just get the better of Hurricane Hunter for second. He has been building towards a win in this grade. Hurricane Hunter rallied nicely after a patient ride fourth from the rear to finish a close third. He relished a return to the level of wins in two of three past runs. Rockage ran on steadily near the inside after a patient ride fifth from the back to add some value to the Quartet. Plunged late Liverbird Star came up one-paced after getting a perfect run one-out, one-back from wide gate. The big weight played against him following a laststart win. Punted late Bring It On only plodded following a prominent run on the fence. It was another disappointing effort at his second run in the grade.
