Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Dances With Dragon was much too good after hitting the front 100m out following a dream run in the box-seat. He looked a treat from the training track for his new trainer Casper Fownes and might have another win up his sleeves. Cinquante Cinq closed well from midfield to grab second in deep stretch but was no match for the winner. High Rev couldn't hold off the closers after taking off from midfield at the 600m to lead a 100m later. My Ally just held on to finish a distant fourth stalking the leader Beauty Rush from the widest gate. It was another positive performance after a last-start win at Sha Tin. Noble Steed ran on well but left things too late racing third last from a wide draw. He requires a stronger pace. Beauty Rush gradually faded after racing in patches in front. Flying Quest ran on without menacing from near last. Thunder Stomp was withdrawn after being restless and unseating his rider at the start.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (452) - SING WOO HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

After being loaded into the barriers, THUNDER STOMP lunged at and made heavy contact with the front gates, resulting in its rider, Apprentice C Wong, being dislodged.

As Apprentice Wong was dislodged, THUNDER STOMP got out through the back gates during which time the bridle became displaced, resulting in THUNDER STOMP becoming loose and galloping a considerable distance.

Acting on veterinary advice that THUNDER STOMP was not suitable to race, that horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER STOMP will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

CIRCUIT GLORY shifted out at the start and bumped HELLO DADDY.

FLYING QUEST shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of CINQUANTE CINQ.

From wide barriers, GOOD OMEN and NOBLE STEED were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Approaching the 1000 Metres, KIRAM raced tight inside HELLO DADDY which shifted in in an attempt to obtain cover behind CIRCUIT GLORY.

When KIRAM remained racing one horse off the rail, HELLO DADDY was consequently left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the race.

Close to the finishing line, FLYING QUEST and NOBLE STEED raced tight.

When questioned regarding his riding of MY ALLY rounding the Home Turn, Apprentice K H Chan stated that after being crossed by HIGH REV passing the 450 Metres, he was racing immediately to the outside of BEAUTY RUSH.

He said he commenced to ride his mount along and as he did this MY ALLY shifted out which allowed DANCES WITH DRAGON to improve its position between MY ALLY and BEAUTY RUSH.

Apprentice Chan was told to ensure that he rides competitively at all times so that his mounts are given the full opportunity to obtain their best position.

A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT GLORY and KIRAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, both horses were unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of FLYING QUEST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

DANCES WITH DRAGON and CINQUANTE CINQ were sent for sampling.
