Recap by phillip woo

Diamond Legend never looked back with his foot to the pedal turning on top by three lengths after comfortably finding the front from gate 14. He was well-judged in front by Tony Piccone and always a chance in Class Five. Firming favourite Little General stayed on well for a placing following a box-seat run. He's a winner waiting to happen in this grade. Savvy Seven closed well to fill a placing after peeling out deep for his run at the 600m following a one-off run behind midfield. Reeve's Muntjac showed uncharacteristically no gate speed but came on well from the rear of the field at the 350m to nearly place. Well-backed Sky Gem ran on all right after being held up for a run from the 350m to 200m settling better than midfield on the fence. He rarely produces a bad run but has trouble winning. Gold Velvet came up flat in the end after working hard from gate 12 to eventually occupy a one-out, one-back spot. He's more effective at the Valley nowadays.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (324) - HAU WONG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters

REEVE'S MUNTJAC began only fairly and then despite being hard ridden in the early stages failed to muster speed.

LUCKY SHINY DAY shifted out at the start and bumped SAVVY SEVEN.

DIAMOND LEGEND and SOLAR BILLION bumped on jumping.

After this, SOLAR BILLION was steadied to obtain cover.

From the outside barrier, MONEY WINNER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After initially being steadied from a wide barrier to obtain cover, MONEY MARSHAL was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GOLD VELVET near the 1500 Metres.

MONEY MARSHAL was then left racing wide and without cover near the 1200 Metres and after the 1000 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race towards the lead near the 800 Metres at which time SOCCER MASTER was left racing and without cover.

Near the 1150 Metres, SAVVY SEVEN and SOCCER MASTER bumped which resulted in SAVVY SEVEN becoming unbalanced and shifting in towards the heels of SUNNY MAJOR.

Near the 500 Metres, SUNNY MAJOR was steadied away from the heels of TRIUMPHAL WIN which shifted to the outside of GOLD VELVET.

From the 350 Metres until passing the 200 Metres, LITTLE GENERAL and MONEY MARSHAL raced tight as LITTLE GENERAL attempted to shift out from behind DIAMOND LEGEND into clear running.

SOLAR BILLION had some difficulty obtaining clear running after the 300 Metres and then was held up for clear running approaching the 200 Metres.

SOLAR BILLION was directed to the outside of TRIUMPHAL WIN passing the 200 Metres and brushed the hindquarters of GOLD VELVET.

SOLAR BILLION was then very awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRIUMPHAL WIN as that horse shifted out under pressure.

GOLD VELVET, which was racing outside SOLAR BILLION, was further hampered as a consequence.

After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of BIG BULLY as the horse did not close off the race after travelling satisfactorily in the early and middle stages.

A veterinary inspection of BIG BULLY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of MONEY WINNER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

DIAMOND LEGEND and LITTLE GENERAL were sent for sampling.
