Recap by phillip woo
Firming as the second favourite Big Party quickened nicely to win with something in hand after shifting into the clear 300m out following a prominent run on the stands side. He relished the light weight but is a very promising sprinter. Big Time Baby gave a cheeky sight to hold down second after sharing the lead with Premiere. He's racing very well on both surfaces this term. Favourite Thanks Forever had his chance chasing the speed. He prefers a longer trip now. Jolly Banner got up a non-threatening fourth but was held up at times after settling one from the rear. Premiere folded over the last 150m. He's beyond his better days. Regency Legend found nothing following a handy run despite working well in blinkers. He didn't appreciate the minimum trip but is likely on his mark anyway. California Whip didn't fire a shot from the back. He prefers a faster strip and longer trip.
