Odds-on choice Rich And Lucky got up 150m out for a first win at his fourth attempt after slotting one-out, one-back in the run. He had put the writing on the wall last start and there wasn't much depth to the race. King Dragon kept on well for second after advancing to the front 350m out following a pace-stalking role outside Noble Consort. It's still early days for him but he's heading in the right direction. Well-backed Invaluable closed well to grab a placing after getting held up for a run until the 200m following a patient ride second from the back. Kelmimi Wins ran on steadily to fill the frame after making his run midfield. It was a better effort at his fifth start but will need more education. Debutant Noble Consort was stopping 150m out after showing good gate speed to lead from a wide gate. He needed the outing. Second favourite Lucky Quality will sleep well after a wide and without cover run.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (284) - THE GRIFFIN TROPHY - Class R - 1400Meters

On jumping, WILLFUL stumbled and consequently lost ground.

NOBLE CONSORT began awkwardly and then was ridden along for a short distance to obtain a forward position.

LUCKY QUALITY was steadied in the early stages, however, was left racing wide and without cover near the 1100 Metres.

After the 1000 Metres, KELMIMI WINS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RICH AND LUCKY as that horse was steadied to obtain cover behind KING DRAGON.

Near the 950 Metres, INVALUABLE commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed behind VICTORY FOR ALL.

Passing the 500 Metres, KELMIMI WINS and INVALUABLE raced tight as INVALUABLE commenced to shift out.

Passing the 400 Metres, VICTORY FOR ALL and RICH AND LUCKY brushed as VICTORY FOR ALL attempted to shift to the outside of KING DRAGON.

As a result of being unable to shift out at this stage, VICTORY FOR ALL was then held up for clear running behind KING DRAGON until passing the 300 Metres.

Approaching the 200 Metres, KELMIMI WINS raced tight outside INVALUABLE as that horse was shifted out away from the heels of RICH AND LUCKY which drifted out under pressure.

Passing the 200 Metres, KING DRAGON shifted out under pressure, requiring its rider to stop riding and straighten KING DRAGON approaching the 100 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of NOBLE CONSORT and LUCKY QUALITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RICH AND LUCKY and KING DRAGON were sent for sampling.
