Recap by phillip woo

Duke Wai got up to take control 100m out after improving to sit handy mid-race after getting squeezed out at the start for a third straight win. Take What You Need finished strongly after making his run behind midfield in the center of the track to just deny Hong Kong Win by a lip for second. Hong Kong Win found a couple too good after working to the lead 150m out pressing the pace near the grandstand side. He's finally produced a better showing at Sha Tin. Massive Pocket ran on steadily from midfield to fill the frame. He continues to race well over this trip. Lucky More found a few too smart after vying for the lead in his initial run. The step into Class Three at only his third start was too much to cope with. Star Luck came up flat chasing the speed off a feather weight from a low draw. He's itching for a return to Class Four. Classic Unicorn was stopping 200m out after mustering speed to lead 700m out. He's failed to live up to expectations.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (272) - LONG VALLEY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters

Whilst in the saddling stalls, COPARTNER SPIRIT had its left front plate refitted.

COPARTNER SPIRIT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

COPARTNER SPIRIT began very awkwardly, bumped SEVENTH SEA and then lost ground.

Soon after the start, DUKE WAI was crowded for room between MASSIVE POCKET and HONG KONG WIN, both of which shifted ground.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CLASSIC UNICORN, J Moreira stated that after taking up a forward position as anticipated, CLASSIC UNICORN tended to travel too keenly in the early stages and then was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure and consequently was not able to finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of CLASSIC UNICORN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, Z Purton stated that due to being pressured by HONG KONG WIN and CLASSIC UNICORN in the early stages, LUCKY MORE then did not close off the race as strongly as he anticipated it would.

A veterinary inspection of LUCKY MORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of SO GLORIOUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LUCKY MORE, DUKE WAI and TAKE WHAT YOU NEED were sent for sampling.
