Recap by phillip woo
Japan's Admire Mars dashed strongly to take control 100m out after making his run one off in midfield. He's a rising star in Japan and was over the odds despite money coming for him late. Waikuku closed very well from the rear of the field to finish a good second. He's likely taken over the mantel from Beauty Generation as the top miler. Early favourite Beauty Generation was again on his tippy toes 100m out after hitting the front from Ka Ying Star 300m out following a pace-stalking run. It was still a huge run but it was below the high standards he's set in the past. Another Japan representative Normcore closed well after a deep run in midfield. Citron Spirit made up heaps of ground late after biding his time second from the back. He doesn't know how to produce a bad run. Post-time favourite, Japan's top miler Indy Champ was badly held up from the 400m to 100m after making his run midfield on the fence following a tardy break.
