Favourite More Than This timed things perfectly down the far outside after a deep run at the back of the field from a wide gate to ring up a fourth straight win. Preciousship found the line really well to make it close after travelling fifth from the back. It was another fine effort up in grade off a lighter weight after coming right to win back-to-back runs. Enrichment made it a blanket finish after being held up for a run until the 200m travelling behind midfield on the fence. It was a return to form at his sixth outing. Nicconi Express came up flat 50m out after briefly hitting the front 150m out with a bold move from behind midfield. It was another good effort. Super Oasis kept on all right after travelling effectively one-out, one-back. It was a positive debut performance. Not Usual Talent could not gain a run until the 150m after improving from last to sit midfield with a tonne of horse underneath him at the 200m. He should have finished a lot closer.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (236) - EISHIN PRESTON HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Meters

MORETHANLUCKY began only fairly.

STAR PERFORMANCE began awkwardly.

SUPER OASIS shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped AMAZING BEATS, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

Shortly after the start, SUPER OASIS again became unbalanced after receiving contact on the hindquarters from PRECIOUSSHIP which was taken in by MORE THAN THIS.

After this, MORE THAN THIS and PRECIOUSSHIP were steadied to obtain cover.

From the outside barriers, ENRICHMENT, NOT USUAL TALENT and JOYFUL TRINITY were all steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the 1100 Metres, PRECIOUSSHIP was bumped by AMAZING BEATS which shifted in.

After the 900 Metres, MORE THAN THIS was left racing without cover.

Near the 550 Metres, AMAZING BEATS raced in restricted room between NICCONI EXPRESS and JOYFUL TRINITY which shifted out.

At the entrance to the Straight, PRECIOUSSHIP was awkwardly placed behind ENJOYING when held up for clear running behind that horse.

PRECIOUSSHIP was then shifted to the outside of ENJOYING and attempted to improve into tight running between ENJOYING and RACING FIGHTER, however, was steadied passing the 350 Metres when disappointed for running between those horses.

PRECIOUSSHIP was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENJOYING passing the 300 Metres.

JOYFUL TRINITY had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

After being held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight, ENRICHMENT (G van Niekerk) was directed to the outside of SUPER OASIS passing the 250 Metres.

When shifted out slightly, ENRICHMENT made contact with ENJOYING and due to the contact on its hindquarters shifted out further, causing ENJOYING to become unbalanced and shift out away from ENRICHMENT, resulting in PRECIOUSSHIP being taken out onto RACING FIGHTER which was steadied as that horse was giving ground.

G van Niekerk was advised that whilst there were some circumstances to this incident, nonetheless he was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he exercises due care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

Passing the 400 Metres, AMAZING BEATS had difficulty obtaining clear running and passing the 350 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of RACING FIGHTER to obtain clear running.

Also passing the 400 Metres, NOT USUAL TALENT was shifted out in an attempt to improve into running between STAR PERFORMANCE and ENRICHMENT, both of which then shifted ground.

This resulted in NOT USUAL TALENT being held up for clear running and then passing the 300 Metres being shifted to the inside of STAR PERFORMANCE when disappointed for running between that horse which again shifted out marginally and ENRICHMENT which shifted in when racing tight to the inside of ENJOYING.

Approaching the 200 Metres, NOT USUAL TALENT was shifted to the outside of STAR PERFORMANCE to obtain clear running.

NOT USUAL TALENT and JOYFUL TRINITY subsequently raced tight passing the 100 Metres.

Close to the finishing line, SUPER OASIS was shifted in away from the heels of NICCONI EXPRESS which was racing tight inside ENRICHMENT which shifted in under pressure and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

STAR PERFORMANCE, which was following SUPER OASIS, was also not ridden out all the way to the end of the race as a consequence.

A veterinary inspection of STAR PERFORMANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MORE THAN THIS and PRECIOUSSHIP were sent for sampling.

The Stewards were advised that INVINCIBLE MISSILE (C037), trained by Mr W Y So, worked on the Small Weather Track this morning when carrying the incorrect saddle cloth.

It was established that INVINCIBLE MISSILE incorrectly carried the saddle cloth assigned to ARDENODE (B145), also trained by Mr So.

It was confirmed that ARDENODE worked later in the morning carrying its correct saddle cloth.

Mr So was fined the sum of $5,000 for breaching the Track Work Regulations.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 4 December 2019 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of I'M THE CONQUIST, BLOOMING SPIRIT, LIVERBIRD STAR, SHOUSON, WINNING FEELING, MASTER ALBERT, G UNIT, FLYING GENIUS, HAPPY GOOD GUYS, RIGHTEOUS MATE, DREAM WARRIORS, MURRAY'S PARTNERS, ZHAN JIANG ROCKS, BLASTOISE, CHARIZARD, FLYING QUEST, MAGNIFICENT, HIGH REV, GLORIOUS DRAGON, THE HULK, JOYFUL UNION, DANCING FIGHTER and AMAZING KIWI revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of GOUTEN OF GARO, EXCEL DELIGHT, TOP SCORE, COMPASSION STAR, GOLDEN KID, ROMANTIC JOURNEY, ABOVE, DIONYSUS COLLIN, MEHBOOB, KING'S TROOPER, SPECIAL STARS, JUMBO PRIZE, GUNNAR, HAPPY ALUMNI, DEFINING MOMENT, STIMULATION, SUPER ELEGANCE, MERIDIAN GENIUS and HIGHLY PROACTIVE (27.11.19) proved negative.
