Recap by phillip woo
Punted late Seasons Bloom really got going over the final 200m after being beaten for speed early on to snatch victory from favourite Full Of Beauty on the wire. He had put the writing on the wall on opening day over this trip. Favourite Full Of Beauty was just denied after surging to the lead near the 100m. It was a terrific run in defeat. Wishful Thinker finished strongly to make it close on the wire after settling midfield on the fence. He's a smart sprinter in his own right. Rattan faded after dictating a genuine pace in front. The handicap conditions went against him and they might consider changing up his run style. Firming late Pakistan Star looked a fleeting chance at the 200m but came up flat 100m out travelling third from the rear. He likely needed the run but might have second thoughts of revamping his career as a sprinter. Plunged late Good Standing faltered after stalking the speed. He was up in class and the 1,200m was too sharp.
