Colorado High got the gap when needed after a one-off run in midfield to win going away near the 100m for a maiden win after showing raw talent in his first three runs. Majestic Conqueror kept on gamely to finish a clear-cut second after reclaiming the lead from the late-fancied Bingo soon after straightening. Eptiwins came from near last to grab a placing 100m out. It was a good effort at only his second run back following a lengthy injuryinduced absence. Fresh Power came up one-paced over the last 100m after looming a chance from behind midfield at the 200m. The 1,400m suits him better. Punted late Splendid Timing ran on well near the inside following a patient ride fourth from the back. He doesn't appear to be too far off a bottom. Farm Bumper kept on evenly after finding a spot effectively one-out, one-back from a tricky gate. Dr Lucky Star made some ground from the rear of the field. It was a better performance at only his fourth outing.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (71) - KENNEDY TOWN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

PARTY EVERYDAY shifted in at the start, inconveniencing PLANET NICCONI and SPLENDID TIMING.

From wide barriers, EPTIWINS and IRON BOY were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

IRON KING lay out and made the Home Turn awkwardly.

Passing the 200 Metres, when attempting to shift out from behind BINGO to obtain a run between that horse and SPLENDID TIMING, GALAXY RACER was badly checked due to BINGO shifting out slightly when weakening.

Passing the 150 Metres, IRON BOY was momentarily steadied away from the heels of EPTIWINS which shifted in under pressure.

Throughout the race, LUCKY WORLD travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of LUCKY WORLD immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a minor wound to the inside of the left hind cannon.

The performance of LUCKY WORLD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY WORLD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned regarding his riding of SPLENDID TIMING in the early part of the Straight, A Sanna stated that he was instructed to allow the horse to race where it was comfortable and to hopefully close off with purpose in the Straight.

He said on straightening he was positioned to the outside and behind the eventual winner COLORADO HIGH and did not place his mount under full pressure as he noted that that horse was shifting out to improve.

He said once COLORADO HIGH had shifted out around the heels of BINGO, he then commenced to place his mount under pressure.

He said SPLENDID TIMING has a long striding action, therefore he allowed it to build momentum before pulling the whip on the horse prior to the 200 Metres.

He added SPLENDID TIMING consequently closed off the race satisfactorily.

A Sanna was advised that his explanation would be noted, however, he was reminded to ensure that he places his mounts under full pressure at the earliest opportunity.

A veterinary inspection of BINGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of PLANET NICCONI immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, PLANET NICCONI will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

FRESH POWER, COLORADO HIGH and MAJESTIC CONQUEROR were sent for sampling.
