Recap by phillip woo

In driving rain, Hidden Spirit sustained his bid near the outside after taking off 650m out travelling fourth from the back to grab victory 200m. Plunged late Master Bernini couldn't match the winner in the drive to the wire after circling the field 700m out sitting third from the rear in a solid effort for his new trainer. He's well rated off his current mark and can bob up at any moment. Chater Thunder stayed on well after improving to settle one-out, one-back at the 800m. It was a return to form on his favourite surface and he too is attractively-rated off his current handicap. Keep Winning produced a grinding effort following a handy run on the fence. He needed the run but is likely on or near his mark. Post-time favourite Let's Come Back settled on the leaders' backs after vying for the early lead, loomed a chance at the 200m and came up one-paced in the last 100m. He burned too much petrol early on.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (70) - HIGH WEST HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

WHAMPOA STAR began very awkwardly and lost ground at the start.

SUNNY MAJOR stumbled on jumping.

After being slow to begin from the outside barrier, GUERDON HELMET was steadied and shifted across behind runners soon after the start.

Soon after the start, CHATER THUNDER and SUN FOXHUNTER made contact as a consequence of both horses shifting ground.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SUNNY MAJOR was steadied when awkwardly placed between ASSOCIATION FANS and WONDERFUL TIGER which shifted out slightly.

Passing the 1200 Metres, ASSOCIATION FANS was steadied and lost ground when crowded for room inside TIGERLAD which shifted in momentarily when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUNNY MAJOR.

Passing the 400 Metres, CHATER THUNDER was bumped by LET'S COME BACK which shifted out around the heels of SUNNY MAJOR to improve.

The performance of TIGERLAD and SUN FOXHUNTER, both of which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, TIGERLAD and SUN FOXHUNTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of TIGERLAD and SUN FOXHUNTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of ASSOCIATION FANS and LET'S COME BACK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, both horses were unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

LET'S COME BACK, HIDDEN SPIRIT and MASTER BERNINI were sent for sampling.
