Recap by phillip woo

Well-backed late Mister Monte was hustled to the lead and got the lip down when required to just deny Le Panache for the win. He had put the writing on the wall on closing day in his first run in the grade and the claim was well utilised. Le Panache might have had a nose in front a few strides out following a box-seat run after a tardy break. Favourite Regency Gem finished well after founding a gap 250m travelling behind midfield to finish a non-threatening third. Wicker stayed on better to fill the frame after a rail run worse than midfield. He had the benefit of a run on opening day but appears to have shown progress this campaign. Specked late Doctors Delight held his ground following a one-out, one-back run. He's not genuine but will likely reap benefit from this outing. Little Fantasy came up flat following a no-cover run better than midfield. Young Glory got going late down the outside without menacing after settling a distant last in the run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (31) - MAGPIE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters

YOUNG GLORY lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of WICKER, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

REGENCY GEM began only fairly and shifted out towards the hindquarters of WINNING CIRCLE.

After this, from wide barriers, REGENCY GEM, WINNING CIRCLE and MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR were all shifted across behind runners.

DATING shifted out at the start and after travelling a short distance was awkwardly placed inside MISTER MONTE.

Then after being ridden along in the early stages, DATING travelled strongly subsequent to being crossed by MISTER MONTE and DOCTORS DELIGHT.

After the 1100 Metres, LITTLE FANTASY travelled wide and without cover.

Passing the 350 Metres, GLORIAM, which was commencing to give ground, momentarily raced in restricted room between LE PANACHE and DOCTORS DELIGHT.

M L Yeung, the rider of WINNING CIRCLE, was spoken to regarding using the whip on a horse out of contention.

After the race, Z Purton reported that MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR made an abnormal breathing noise during the race.

A veterinary inspection of MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

REGENCY GEM, MISTER MONTE and LE PANACHE were sent for sampling.
