Recap by phillip woo
Deal Maker went straight to the front and never looked back to win with something in hand. He really enjoys this surface and can win another. Enfolding ran on a nicely down the outside after settling two from the back to finish a distant second. Well-backed Good Runners Way just held on for third after stalking the speed in his first try on this surface. It was a good effort up in grade after an opening day win on the turf and there might be more to come from him this term. Specked late Khaki kept on all right following a one-off run in midfield. He needed the outing but is likely more effective on the turf. Good Fit came up flat travelling worse than midfield on the fence. Like the latter, he needed the start and the big weight did not help. Razor Quest was struggling mid-straight following a box-seat run in his first-ever try on the surface. He should stick to the turf but old age is getting the better of him.
