Racing Incident Report
Race One: (11) - BONHAM HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Just prior to the start being effected, FIRE AND GOLD became fractious and then began very awkwardly and lost ground.
FORTUNE HAPPINESS began only fairly.
WINNERS BROTHER began awkwardly.
KING MORTAR began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of RUN MOOCHI which was then crowded for room inside CORRE RAPIDO which shifted in.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, SUPREME WITNESS failed to muster speed and near the 1000 Metres was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Passing the 1100 Metres, FORTUNE HAPPINESS was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of CORRE RAPIDO.
At the 750 Metres, RUN MOOCHI, which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover, got its head on the side and lay in, resulting in its rider having to direct RUN MOOCHI out to prevent tightening to MUTUAL JOY.
After the 600 Metres, WINNERS BROTHER raced tight between SUPREME WITNESS and FIRE AND GOLD which shifted out.
Approaching the 300 Metres, MUTUAL JOY was steadied when crowded for room between FORTUNE HAPPINESS which shifted out before being directed back in to relieve the tightening and RUN MOOCHI which got its head on the side and lay in marginally.
KING MORTAR lost its left front plate near the 300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of SUPREME WITNESS immediately following the race found the horse to be displaying heat stress.
Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FORTUNE HAPPINESS and EXPONENTS were sent for sampling.

Favourite Fortune Happiness bolted away near the 100m after switching off the fence following prominent run at the 200m to open his win account. He had put the writing on the wall at his final start last season following a downgrade and return to the dirt. Punted late Exponents closed well following a one-off run in midfield to grab second inside the final 50m. He's sprinting well on both surfaces. Corre Rapido's condition gave way late after getting his own way in front. The big weight anchored him late. Specked late Run Moochi was on his tippy toes 150m out after rushing forward to sit outside the leader at the 750m. It was a better effort following a move to visors. Dating ran on without menacing from behind midfield. He might be crying out for a longer trip. Mutual Joy was gone at the 250m chasing the leader. He's beyond his better days.
