Cordyceps kept on gamely for the win after peeling out and hitting the front near the 300m following a dream run on the back of the speed as the post-time favourite. World Famous closed well saving ground in midfield to grab second inside the last 100m. He's likely matured with a season under his belt and can break through shortly. Regency Bo Bo closed late to grab third after travelling fifth from the back following an unusual slow break. Beauty Day was yielding ground over the last 150m after getting his own way in front. His lack of fitness came into play late. Early favourite Mongolian Legend made some headway late near the inside after settling fourth from the back. He's not easy to get right. Ultimate Glory ran on without menacing from behind midfield. He'll be a force to be reckoned with if he can find his way back into Class Four. Private Rocket was a nonfactor when push came to shove following a one-off run in midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (10) - LIN FA SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

REGENCY BO BO began awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of PARTY TOGETHER, resulting in REGENCY BO BO becoming badly unbalanced and losing ground.

After this, REGENCY BO BO was ridden along for some distance in an endeavour to obtain a more forward position, however, failed to muster speed and consequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

CORDYCEPS began awkwardly.

From a wide barrier, JOLLY CONVERGENCE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

CHUNG WAH SPIRIT was steadied and shifted across behind runners shortly after the start to obtain cover.

After travelling a short distance, TANGMERE was crowded for room between UNICRON JEWELLERY and WORLD FAMOUS which shifted out.

After the 700 Metres, HEAVENLY THOUGHT raced tight outside CORDYCEPS when taken wider by that horse which shifted to the outside of BEAUTY ENERGY.

UNICRON JEWELLERY had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

After the race, L Hewitson reported that JOLLY CONVERGENCE made an abnormal breathing noise during the race.

A veterinary inspection of JOLLY CONVERGENCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY CONVERGENCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When questioned regarding the performance of BEAUTY ENERGY, K Teetan stated that when racing without cover, BEAUTY ENERGY travelled too keenly and would not relax.

He said BEAUTY ENERGY stayed on one-paced in the Straight until near the 150 Metres at which time the horse's condition gave out.

He said based on the manner in which BEAUTY ENERGY raced fresh up, he was of the opinion that the horse would derive considerable benefit out of today's race.

A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY ENERGY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, C Schofield stated that after being able to obtain a good position with cover from the outside barrier in the early stages, PRIVATE ROCKET travelled well in the early and middle stages.

He said after shifting PRIVATE ROCKET out rounding the Home Turn, the horse was disappointing in that it failed to quicken and then over the concluding stages gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of PRIVATE ROCKET immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CORDYCEPS and WORLD FAMOUS were sent for sampling.
