Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (805) - SWEET ORANGE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
KUNGFUMASTER PANDA began only fairly.
VIGOR FAME and TRUE GRIT bumped heavily at the start.
VIGOR FAME then raced tight between TRUE GRIT and XIANG BAI QI which got its head on the side and shifted out after being brushed by RULETHEROOST.
VIGOR FAME was then ridden along to obtain a forward position.
From wide barriers, TRUE GRIT and TANGMERE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Despite being vigorously ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages, TRAVEL FIRST failed to muster speed.
GIANT TURTLE took some time to muster speed in the early stages and consequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
Near the 1600 Metres, TRAVEL FIRST raced tight inside RULETHEROOST which got its head on the side and lay in across the heels of TASHIDELEK.
After the race, K C Leung stated that after being able to obtain the lead in the early stages, SALTO OLIMPICO travelled well until VIGOR FAME improved its position to the outside of SALTO OLIMPICO after the 700 Metres.
He said SALTO OLIMPICO immediately came under pressure and then was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to respond to his riding rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of SALTO OLIMPICO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

TASHIDELEK, TRUE GRIT and XIANG BAI QI were sent for sampling.

True Grit came on strongly down the far outside after being niggled along at the back to grab victory in the shadows of the post. It was his fifth straight win over this course and should remain competitive up in grade next season off a light weight. Xiang Bai Qi was just denied after dashing to the front 60m out following a one-off run behind midfield. Odds-on favourite Tashidelek just got the head down for third after jumping much better to travel one-off in fifth. He's likely better at 2,000m and further. Well-backed Vigor Fame grudgingly gave way after assuming the lead 400m out tracking the leader Salto Olimpico from a tricky gate. He's pretty honest over the 1,800m at either track. Specked late Tangmere came on nicely one from the right to finish a close fifth after a patient ride three deep near the back from an outside gate. He's slowly but naturally coming to hand. Last Kingdom had his chance following a box-seat run but came up flat 150m out.
