Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Rise High responded nicely to win with something in hand 150m out following a one-off run in midfield. He's a progressive and versatile sort and will be a force to be reckoned with next campaign. Seasons Bloom just out-finished Citron Spirit for second after being short of room early straight behind the tiring Helene Leadingstar following a midfield run on the fence. It was a return to form after disappointing all season long. Citron Spirit finished well with two wider out after a patient ride third from the back on the fence. It was another solid effort despite sitting on a career high in the ratings. Time Warp was swamped late for a placing after finding the front from a wide gate. Savvy Six ran on reasonably well after biding his time second from the back. He's honest but is more effective over a longer trip. Helene Leadingstar found nothing when push came to shove following a box-seat run. He's failed to live up to expectations in his first campaign.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (758) - THE PREMIER PLATE (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1800Meters

INSAYSHABLE was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever).

Before being allowed to race again, INSAYSHABLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

RISE HIGH shifted out at the start and bumped SEASONS BLOOM.

From the outside barrier, MONGOLIAN KING was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

CITRON SPIRIT was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

At the entrance to the Straight, RISE HIGH became unbalanced when bumped by RUTHVEN (M L Yeung) which was shifting to the outside of SIMPLY BRILLIANT.

M L Yeung was advised that whilst his shift was not a great one, nonetheless he must ensure that he exercises due care when shifting ground so as to avoid contact which may cause other runners to become unbalanced.

Near the 250 Metres, RUTHVEN was momentarily steadied away from the heels of CITRON SPIRIT (A Domeyer) which shifted in.

A Domeyer was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Approaching the 50 Metres, SEASONS BLOOM was shifted to the inside of RISE HIGH to continue improving after being disappointed for running between that horse and CITRON SPIRIT .

K C Leung said that after obtaining a good position behind the leader in the early stages, HELENE LEADINGSTAR relaxed well and travelled comfortably.

He said after being placed under pressure rounding the Home Turn, HELENE LEADINGSTAR did not quicken as he anticipated and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race.

He added he was not able to offer any explanation for HELENE LEADINGSTAR's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection of HELENE LEADINGSTAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RISE HIGH and SEASONS BLOOM were sent for sampling.
