Racing Incident Report
Race One: (740) - CHANCERY PLATE - Class GRIFFIN - 1000Meters
JOY AVENUE stumbled badly at the start.
TARGET FINDER began awkwardly, resulting in its rider, N Callan, becoming unbalanced.
JOY AVENUE lost its left front plate near the 900 Metres.
Passing the 150 Metres, TARGET FINDER was directed to the inside of TANG TREASURE to continue improving.
The performance of JOY AVENUE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, JOY AVENUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of JOY AVENUE immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained an overreach wound to the inside of the left front heel.
WINNING METHOD and U W BROTHER were sent for sampling.

Raging favourite Winning Method won with plenty in hand after claiming the lead 500m out travelling up on the speed near the middle of the track to make it two wins from three starts. He has a bright future. U W Brother was up pressing the leader G Unit on the stands side and just shaded that one in the dying stages for the Quinella spot. It was a much better effort second up. G Unit gradually faded after dictating the run. He's held on reasonably well to place in both Griffin starts and should turn out to be a nice money spinner for connections. Target Finder made some ground travelling among the backmarkers after an awkward break but he wasn't straightforward. He's still requires a lot of work. Tang Treasure came up flat following a handy run. He'll need more time. Both Legendary Hero and Joy Avenue struggled.
