Recap by phillip woo

Reliable Team held off Hero Time after reclaiming the lead 150m out from Compassion Star pressing forward early on to lead from a wide gate near the 900m to start in his career on a winning note. Hero Time stayed on well for second following a prominent run with cover. He might be able to get away with a win before the curtain closes on the campaign following positive runs in his past two starts. Oriental Elite ran on steadily from midfield to grab a placing. He's gone well in his past two of three following a win but the big weight's proving a tough hurdle to clear. Compassion Star did put his head in front at the 250m after working hard to eventually sit outsider the eventual winner but was on his tippy toes 100m out. Favourite Packing Rockstar only plodded following a handy run along the fence on debut here. Calling The Shots made some ground without menacing from behind midfield. He's limited and likely needs to drop further in the handicaps.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (717) - MOUNT NICHOLSON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

The Stewards tonight interviewed Mr C Fownes, the trainer of SUPER LUCKY, regarding that horse being withdrawn from this race by order of the Stewards after being inadvertently treated on the morning of Tuesday, 4 June 2019 and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter GOOD FOR YOU (J Moreira).

Also interviewed was Mr C K Chung, assistant trainer allocated to Mr Fownes for the current racing season.

Mr Fownes was fined the sum of $15,000 for breaching the Rules of Racing in that as the person responsible for all matters pertaining to the running of his stable and the work of the stable staff allocated to him, he failed in the management of his stable as a result of SUPER LUCKY being inadvertently treated and having to be withdrawn from this race on 4 June 2019.

Mr Chung was advised that a report would be forwarded to Stables Management regarding his involvement in this matter.

DR RESPECT was also withdrawn on 4.6.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter BLISSFUL EIGHT (K C Leung).

Before being allowed to race again, DR RESPECT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On arrival at the Start, HIGH REV was noted to have blood in the mouth.

A veterinary inspection of HIGH REV found that horse to have sustained a minor laceration to the mouth and was found to be suitable to race.

Also on arrival at the Start, J Moreira expressed concern regarding the manner in which GOOD FOR YOU cantered to the barriers.

GOOD FOR YOU was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, after the necessary consultations, that the horse was suitable to race.

A veterinary inspection of GOOD FOR YOU immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right hind leg.

Before being allowed to race again, GOOD FOR YOU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

CHARITYDREAM shifted out at the start and hampered CALLING THE SHOTS.

RELIABLE TEAM and HIGH REV bumped at the start.

After this, from the outside barrier, HIGH REV was shifted across behind runners.

Also from a wide barrier, GOOD FOR YOU was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

CHARITYDREAM lost its left hind plate in the early stages.

After travelling a short distance, HERO TIME shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in WINNERS BROTHER, ORIENTAL ELITE and CALLING THE SHOTS being crowded for room outside CHARITYDREAM which got its head on the side and shifted out.

This resulted in CALLING THE SHOTS being steadied away from the heels of CHARITYDREAM near the 1150 Metres and ORIENTAL ELITE also losing ground.

After being ridden along to obtain a forward position, THE SHOW was steadied after the 1100 Metres when racing wide, to obtain cover.

Then approaching the 1000 Metres, THE SHOW shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of WINNERS BROTHER, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

Passing the 1100 Metres, HERO TIME was awkwardly placed outside CHARITYDREAM which, when being ridden along, got its head on the side and lay out.

Then making the turn near the 900 Metres, HERO TIME and COMPASSION STAR were crowded for room between RELIABLE TEAM and CHARITYDREAM.

Near the 1000 Metres, after being corrected when shifting in abruptly, CHARITYDREAM got its head on the side and hung out despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in HERO TIME and COMPASSION STAR being badly hampered when crowded for room inside RELIABLE TEAM.

The racing manners of CHARITYDREAM were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, CHARITYDREAM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier around a bend.

Near the 850 Metres, BLISSFUL EIGHT became unbalanced when racing tight inside CALLING THE SHOTS which was taken in by ORIENTAL ELITE which shifted ground before being directed out to relieve the tightening to BLISSFUL EIGHT.

After this, CALLING THE SHOTS raced tight inside ORIENTAL ELITE and then making the turn near the 550 Metres was steadied when crowded for room between PACKING ROCKSTAR which shifted out marginally and ORIENTAL ELITE (A Domeyer) which shifted in.

A Domeyer was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leave comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.

Also making the turn near the 550 Metres, THE SHOW was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNERS BROTHER which made the turn awkwardly.

Close to the finishing line, ORIENTAL ELITE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HERO TIME which drifted out under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of CALLING THE SHOTS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

PACKING ROCKSTAR, RELIABLE TEAM and HERO TIME were sent for sampling.
