Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (689) - THE SHA TIN VASE (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1200Meters
BORN IN CHINA was withdrawn on 25.5.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left fore medial suspensory branch injury).
Before being allowed to race again, BORN IN CHINA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WINNER'S WAY became unbalanced when crowded for room on jumping between DIVINE UNICORN which shifted in and WISHFUL THINKER which was taken out by LITTLE GIANT.
DIVINE UNICORN also became unbalanced as a result of contact with WINNER'S WAY.
Throughout the race, FULL OF BEAUTY travelled wide and without cover and approaching the 500 Metres raced tight outside GUNNISON which improved to the outside of CALIFORNIA FORTUNE.
A veterinary inspection of GUNNISON, FULL OF BEAUTY and CALIFORNIA FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of DIVINE UNICORN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
FULL OF BEAUTY, LITTLE GIANT and DRAGON GENERAL were sent for sampling.

Little Giant kept on gamely after hitting the front 150m out following a one-off run worse than midfield to earn an overdue win despite top weight. He had the Group One form and his class rose to the top. Dragon General came on nicely to finish a close second after peeling off the tiring leaders 200m out racing midfield. It was a career effort but he's as honest as the day is long and suited by the light weight. Wishful Thinker stayed on well down the outside after travelling third from the rear. It was a good run in his first start after an overseas run in March. Odds-on favourite Full Of Beauty came up flat 100m out after working to the front 300m out following a prominent run without cover the entire trip. Big Time Baby faded after dictating the run. He was clearly outclassed and better on the dirt. Plunged late California Fortune was a non-factor after a pacestalking role. He's clearly at his best when allowed to bowl along in front.
