Recap by phillip woo

Favourite London Hall just got up in a ding-dong finish to win a tight, three-horse photo after travelling in the second half of the field about 10-lengths off the leader. Well-backed Good Days was just denied after surging to the lead 250m out following a handy run on the fence. He had been running consistently without placing all season long and has likely touched a bottom here. You Have My Word finished well travelling worse than midfield to make it very close on the wire. He has been effective all season long at 1,800m and further. Ho Ho Feel ran on distant fourth but got too far back in the run from a wide gate. He's had a lot of racing but rarely produces a bad run in this class. Bullish Glory ran on without menacing travelling just behind London Hall in the run. It wasn't a bad run following a stable change. McQueen gave way 150m out after moving to the front 500m out stalking the leader Delight Express. He's not reliable.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (670) - BOOSTING INNOVATIVE POWER 1800M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters

MANAGEMENT STAR was slow to begin and then after initially being ridden along for a short distance was steadied and shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.

SAVVY SEVEN shifted out at the start and bumped KWAI CHUNG ELITE.

BULLISH GLORY (K C Leung) began awkwardly and then was crowded for room between SMART PATCH and DELIGHT EXPRESS which shifted out.

This resulted in BULLISH GLORY becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

In this incident, K C Leung momentarily lost the use of his right stirrup iron.

From wide barriers, HO HO FEEL and AMAZING AGILITY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

For a considerable distance after the 1600 Metres, SAVVY SEVEN (Z Purton) proved very difficult to settle and over-raced.

After the race, Z Purton said because of the manner in which SAVVY SEVEN over-raced for some distance in the middle stages, the horse was then not able to finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of SAVVY SEVEN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Approaching the 350 Metres, CHEERFUL STAR was shifted to the outside of KWAI CHUNG ELITE and then CHAPARRAL STAR to continue improving.

Near the 150 Metres, SMART PATCH shifted in and bumped MANAGEMENT STAR.

Approaching the 100 Metres, K Teetan (YOU HAVE MY WORD) dropped his right rein.

K Teetan was told that this was the 7th occasion this season that he had been reported to have dropped a rein during a race.

He was further told that he must address this aspect of his riding so that proper control is maintained over his mounts.

Also approaching the 100 Metres, the whip of C Y Ho (LONDON HALL) broke.

The performance of DELIGHT EXPRESS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, DELIGHT EXPRESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, U Rispoli stated that the only explanation he could offer for the disappointing performance of CHAPARRAL STAR was that the horse may have not appreciated today's track surface given that at its two most recent starts it had raced well on a "Good to Yielding??track and prior to that was successful at Happy Valley where the surface had more give in it.

A veterinary inspection of CHAPARRAL STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

LONDON HALL and GOOD DAYS were sent for sampling.
