Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (647) - CLEAR WATER BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
MONGOLIAN LEGEND was slow to begin.
TANG FLEMING shifted out at the start, resulting in WILLIE WAY being taken out onto FAMOUS WARRIOR which became unbalanced after being bumped by WILLIE WAY.
After this, despite being ridden along, FAMOUS WARRIOR failed to muster speed.
From the outside barriers, HANG'S DECISION and OWNERS' STAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages, JADE FORTUNE was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1300 Metres commenced to prove very difficult to settle.
JADE FORTUNE was then allowed to improve its position, however, continued to race wide and without cover.
Approaching the 500 Metres, NUCLEAR POWER raced tight outside WILLIE WAY which improved into tight running between NUCLEAR POWER and DRAGON COMMANDER.
GAMEPLAYER EMPEROR went amiss in its right front leg at the 300 Metres, resulting in K C Leung being dislodged.
Near the 150 Metres, M F Poon (NUCLEAR POWER) dropped his whip.
M L Yeung (MONGOLIAN LEGEND) said that due to the track conditions he was unaware that K C Leung had been dislodged until he was very close to that rider.
He said as soon as he became aware that K C Leung had been dislodged, he immediately took evasive action in an attempt to avoid the fallen rider.
He said because of the actions that he had to take in an attempt to avoid Jockey Leung, he then eased MONGOLIAN LEGEND down over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection of MONGOLIAN LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PING HAI TREASURE and TANG FLEMING were sent for sampling.
Samples were also taken from GAMEPLAYER EMPEROR.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 5 May 2019 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of WINNING METHOD, JUDY'S STAR, DOCTORS DELIGHT, MONEY MARSHAL, SUNNY BOY, AMBITIOUS HEART, ALLIED AGILITY, SUPER JUNIOR, YOUNG LEGEND, BEAUTY DAY, TOUCH OF LUCK, BELLAGIO, DESTIN, SAVVY SIX, MULTIMILLION, DIAMOND KING, SMART ROCKET, GRAND CHANCELLOR, NOT USUAL TALENT, SILVER FIG and YICHUN BLITZ revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of HAPPY ALUMNI, MONICA, LOOKING GOOD, DAN CONTROL, GOLDEN SIXTY, LOCKHEED, MERIDIAN GENIUS, EVERYONE'S JOY, DUKE WAI, KA YING STAR, HARMONY VICTORY, SPLENDOUR AND GOLD, CHAMPION SUPREME, CORDYCEPS, SANTA ANA LANE, BEAT THE CLOCK, RATTAN, BEAUTY GENERATION, SINGAPORE SLING, WIN BRIGHT, EXULTANT, UNCLE STEVE, SOLAR WAI WAI, CRAIG'S STAR, FLYING THUNDER and FULL OF BEAUTY (28.4.19) proved negative.

Favourite Ping Hai Treasure needed every inch of the 1,650m settling second to wear down long-time leader Tang Fleming for a second win from his past three with a switch to the dirt. Tang Fleming gave a cheeky sight in front off a light weight to finish a clear-cut second. He's capable of a big run on this surface but is not reliable. Willie Way finished well to grab a placing 100m out following a patient ride fourth from the rear. He did win off an identical mark in his season debut so a positive run was not a surprise. Imperial Concorde just failed to get up for a placing after having to avoid the fallen horse Gameplayer Emperor 300m out following a rail run behind midfield. Chung Wah Spirit just held his ground following a prominent run. He was anchored by the big weight following a last-start win. Late-backed Volpino ran on without menacing following a midfield run. He might require a bit more relief in the handicaps.
