In a blanket finish, Loriz just held on after a nicely rated run in front to open his win account after fourths in his past two of four starts. He makes his own luck in front and the switch to the Valley reaped dividends. Golden Glory kept coming despite a deep run with cover worse than midfield to make it close on the wire. He's capable over this trip but is not reliable. Favourite Gift Of Lifeline finished strongly two from the right but left things too late travelling near last. He's crying out for a longer trip. Punted late Lightning Steed just failed to place following a one-out, one-back run. It was a better result but he did have his chance. Well-backed Glittering Armour closed well after shifting into the clear at the 200m following a patient ride second from the rear. It was a good effort in his first run following a nose bleed in December. In a better effort, Hero Time was doing some nice work late from the rear of the field. He's in the right grade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (607) - INCHEON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

GIFT OF LIFELINE shifted out on jumping and made heavy contact with ONE STEP AHEAD, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

Then despite being hard ridden, GIFT OF LIFELINE failed to muster speed.

GLITTERING ARMOUR began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of FLYING MONKEY.

GOLDEN GLORY began awkwardly and then was bumped by REGENCY DARLING which shifted out.

From the outside barriers, HERO TIME and BRAVE COMMAND were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the 1000 Metres, LIGHTNING STEED got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LORIZ.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, GIFT OF LIFELINE and HERO TIME raced tight.

Then near the 500 Metres, GIFT OF LIFELINE shifted in and bumped GLITTERING ARMOUR which resulted in GIFT OF LIFELINE becoming unbalanced and then shifting out towards the heels of HERO TIME.

After the 250 Metres, GLITTERING ARMOUR was shifted out a number of horses to obtain clear running.

Throughout the race, DRAGON DANCE travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of FLYING MONKEY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

GIFT OF LIFELINE, LORIZ and GOLDEN GLORY were sent for sampling.
