Recap by phillip woo
Short-priced favourite Beauty Generation ran them into the ground in front for an eighth straight group success to solidly his ranking as the top turf miler in the world. Eagle Way came with a bold move from near last to cut down Pakistan Star 50m out for second. He's a proven group performer and has the added advantage of versatility. Pakistan Star found a couple too smart after working to second 150m out travelling midfield following a sluggish start. It was one of his better efforts of the campaign following a stable change and he'll be looking forward to 2,000m next time out. Singapore Sling just failed to grab a placing following a prominent run. It was a better effort but he has struggled overall in group company this term. Sensationally-backed Conte was a disappointment following a box-seat run. He had a rare off day. Rise High was caught in traffic behind the tiring pair of Conte and Mission Tycoon following a midfield run.
