Recap by phillip woo

Indigenous Star responded well when popped the question following a rail run behind midfield to snatch victory from Best Effort. He was on the verge of a victory and relished a return to the Sha Tin 1,600m. Well-backed Best Effort did everything right when rushing to lead at the 1,400m from a wide gate but get the win in his debut ride from apprentice Alfred Chan Ka-hei. He had put the writing on the wall two back and the claimer's 10- pound claim certainly helped. Little Fantasy had his chance following a box-seat run. He's been in the thick of the finish all season long without winning. Money Marshal still picked up late to get up for a Quartet spot despite nearly coming down when clipping heels and nearly coming down approaching the 200m following a midfield run. It was clearly his best run to date following a rise in trip. Amazing Gold eventually got going following a midfield run outside Money Marshal to grab a pay slip in the last strides.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (539) - KAT O HOI HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters

When proceeding to the barriers, A Sanna was dislodged from YOUNG GLORY.

As A Sanna was ruled unfit to fulfil the riding engagement by the Chief Medical Officer, in order to avoid an unreasonable delay, YOUNG GLORY was withdrawn from the race by order of the Stewards.

On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie applied to ROYAL PREROGATIVE was replaced.

INVESTOR BOOM blundered badly at the start, resulting in its rider, M Chadwick, becoming badly unbalanced.

In this incident, INVESTOR BOOM shifted in and bumped GORGEOUS AGAIN which on jumping was also bumped by POSITIVELY HIGH which shifted out.

TRIUMPH began only fairly.

SUREWIN began only fairly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ROCKET GO which became unbalanced.

BEST EFFORT lost its right hind plate shortly after the start.

Near the 250 Metres, GORGEOUS AGAIN was awkwardly placed behind POSITIVELY HIGH which shifted out.

Also near the 250 Metres, MONEY MARSHAL was shifted out in an endeavour to improve into tight running between VICTOR EMPEROR and ROYAL PREROGATIVE.

When VICTOR EMPEROR shifted out marginally, MONEY MARSHAL clipped the heels of that horse and blundered badly, causing MONEY MARSHAL to lose ground and for VICTOR EMPEROR to become badly unbalanced.

As it was established that MONEY MARSHAL had not established running to the outside of VICTOR EMPEROR prior to that horse shifting out marginally, no further action was taken.

However, C Schofield was advised that, wherever possible, he should make every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground.

After the 100 Metres, INDIGENOUS STAR got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure.

When questioned, Mr L Ho, the trainer of POSITIVELY HIGH, said that the horse had not been finishing off its races when ridden positively in its recent starts with a light weight.

He said as POSITIVELY HIGH was carrying a heavy weight today and given that the horse had been disappointing, it was decided to ride it in about midfield if possible with cover in the hope that it would be able to finish off the race.

He said POSITIVELY HIGH was again very disappointing in today's race which was in keeping with the horse's recent form.

A veterinary inspection of POSITIVELY HIGH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, it was reported that ROYAL PREROGATIVE had sustained a minor laceration to the inside of the left front fetlock.

A veterinary inspection of MONEY MARSHAL and VICTOR EMPEROR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LITTLE FANTASY, INDIGENOUS STAR and BEST EFFORT were sent for sampling.
