Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (480) - GERANIUM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
When approaching the barriers, JIMSON THE DRAGON became fractious, resulting in its rider, G van Niekerk, being dislodged without incident.
JIMSON THE DRAGON then galloped for a short distance riderless before being recaptured.
On return to the Start, JIMSON THE DRAGON was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
WICKER and GOLDEN FOUR began only fairly.
SEVENTY SEVENTY shifted in at the start and bumped JIMSON THE DRAGON.
From a wide barrier, CHATER THUNDER was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
SMART ROCKET was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Near the 150 Metres, K Teetan (GREAT VICTORY) dropped his right rein which he took some time to regather.
SMART ROCKET, SKY TREASURE and CHAIRMAN LO were sent for sampling.

Well backed Sky Treasure led from a wide gate and fended off a challenge by favourite Chairman Lo from the 300m to prevail by a whisker. He makes his own luck in front and it paid dividends on this occasion. Early favourite Chairman Lo had every conceivable chance tracking the winner but just couldn't get by. He's been costly on a win line with only minor placings in four of five starts but will be winning shortly. Post-time favourite Smart Rocket ran on well after covering ground second from the rear to grab third. He seems to have found his niche over the 1,400m. Golden Four got going late to grab fourth travelling three from the back. He's more effective on a fast track. Jimson The Dragon kept on all right settling box-seat despite dumping his rider and running off prior to the start. He's shown some ability in both Sha Tin runs from four starts.
