Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (448) - SAM SHING HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters
As the start was effected, CALIFORNIA ARCHER became fractious and then was slow to begin.
ASSIMILATE and BALTIC WHISPER were slow to begin.
CHEERFULJET shifted out at the start and hampered I AM POWER.
Approaching and passing the 400 Metres, REFINED TREASURE was held up for clear running.
Near the 300 Metres, CHEERFULJET was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of SAUL'S SPECIAL.
A veterinary inspection of BALTIC WHISPER and CALIFORNIA ARCHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
REFINED TREASURE and SAUL'S SPECIAL were sent for sampling.

Favourite Refined Treasure showed a terrific turn of foot to win going away 50m out after being held up in traffic sitting handy until the 200m to ring up a fourth win from six starts over this trip. Punted late Saul's Special just out-finished I Am Power for second after sitting fore of midfield near the far side. He doesn't have much upside off his current mark. I Am Power ran on well despite laying inside at times to nearly grab second travelling near last following a slow start. It was a good run in defeat carrying more weight following a last-start win. Big Time Baby kept on all right travelling up on the speed. It was a better run but hasn't gotten much help from the handicapper following an easy win on the dirt in December. Cheerfuljet made some ground late from behind midfield. It wasn't a bad run in a rare appearance over the straight 1,000m. Assimilate made some ground from last near the far side despite being bothered at times by I Am Power.
