Management Star defied a very slow start to come from midfield after switching into the clear at the 350m to blouse favourite Savvy Seven 20m out for an overdue win after three earlier placings this term. Savvy Seven found one better after surging to the front 220m out following a handy run. He'll have to leave the grade but appears from his past two have turned the corner and might remain competitive at the bottom of the weights in Class Four now. Young Glory got going late settling fourth from the rear to overhaul Laugh Out Loud in the final 30m for third. Old-timer Laugh Out Loud was just out-finished for a placing after settling last until the 800m. He's not far off a bottom. Money Winner should have finished closer if not getting held up for a run from the 250m to 150m after cornering in last. Jumbo Bus lost a placing 60m out after getting his own way.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (395) - YUE YEE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters

MANAGEMENT STAR began very awkwardly and made heavy contact with the outside of its barrier stall on jumping.

SAVVY SEVEN and YOUNG GLORY bumped heavily at the start.

From a wide barrier, LAUGH OUT LOUD was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

C Murray (ROMANTIC JOURNEY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 1400 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of BONITO, causing that horse to be unnecessarily hampered and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

C Murray was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 20 February 2019 and to expire on Monday, 25 February 2019 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

Approaching the 500 Metres, YOUNG GLORY and ROMANTIC JOURNEY raced tight as YOUNG GLORY improved to the outside of MANAGEMENT STAR.

Passing the 300 Metres, LAUGH OUT LOUD improved quickly onto the heels of STARLOT which was giving ground.

LAUGH OUT LOUD then got its head up when checked away from the heels of STARLOT and shifted out abruptly, resulting in MONEY WINNER being crowded for room inside YOUNG GLORY and losing ground.

MANAGEMENT STAR and SAVVY SEVEN were sent for sampling.
