Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (383) - CHATER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
MR LUMIERES was withdrawn on 29.1.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).
Before being allowed to race again, MR LUMIERES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FORTUNE BOOTH began only fairly.
From the outside barrier, SEVEN HEAVENS was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, BIG TIME BABY raced tight between KEEP MOVING and FANTASTIC FEELING which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ALMABABY.
Passing the 850 Metres, BIG TIME BABY, which was over-racing, momentarily raced in restricted room between KEEP MOVING and ALMABABY which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to BIG TIME BABY.
Making the turn near the 550 Metres, KEEP MOVING got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of BIG TIME BABY.
Then near the 500 Metres, KEEP MOVING was checked when unable to maintain its position inside BIG TIME BABY.
FORTUNE BOOTH, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of KEEP MOVING in consequence.
Near the 450 Metres, SUPER TURBO raced tight inside FANTASTIC FEELING.
Passing the 250 Metres, K Teetan (SUPER TURBO) dropped his whip.
Close to the finishing line, FORTUNE BOOTH was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ALMABABY.
Throughout the race, ALMABABY travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, G van Niekerk reported that FANTASTIC FEELING did not feel comfortable in its action throughout the race.
A veterinary inspection of FANTASTIC FEELING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, FANTASTIC FEELING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
COUNTRY STAR and TELECOM BROTHERS were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
Mr F C Lor, the trainer of WITNESS HUNTER, was advised that a warning had been placed upon that horse which in Race 9 on 20 January 2019 at the Sha Tin racemeeting turned its head to the right towards AMAZING passing the 100 Metres.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 27 January 2019 The Veterinary Surgeon reported that NICE FANDANGO was lame in its right front leg after racing.
Before being allowed to race again, NICE FANDANGO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of BRING IT ON, AMAZING AGILITY, YOU HAVE MY WORD, WINNER SUPREME, MERIDIAN GENIUS, REGENCY LEGEND, RAGING BLITZKRIEG, DIAMOND LEGEND, DARING HEART, NOBLE DE LOVE, DEAL MAKER, GAMEPLAYER EMPEROR, GOLDIE FLANKER, EXULTANT, DINOZZO, DARK DREAM, FURORE, MISSION TYCOON, GRADE ONE, AEROHAPPINESS, KING OPIE and PERFECT MATCH revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of CARE FREE PRINCE, PICKEN, EVER LAUGH, I DO, NICCONI EXPRESS, HO HO KHAN, HELENE LEADINGSTAR, FULL OF BEAUTY, CRAIG'S STAR, BEAT THE CLOCK, MR STUNNING, LAST KINGDOM, SACRED IBIS, FAMOUS WARRIOR, BEAUTY GENERATION, CONTE, CALIFORNIA ARCHER, SPEEDY KING, KASI FARASI, NOBLE STEED, WAIKUKU and TAKING AIM (20.1.19) proved negative.

Odds-on favourite Country Star kept up a strong gallop after hitting the front 200m out chasing one-off in second to chalk up a remarkable fifth win over this course from eight starts this term. There's likely more improvement to come from the three-year-old. Telecom Brothers stayed on nicely to finish a close second following a dream run. He's taken the next step with a solid result at his second run in the class. Punted late, Super Hoppy finished strongly down the outside after a patient ride third from the rear to nearly grab second. He really gets along under Zac Purton. Almababy stayed on well following a prominent run to add some value to the Quartet. He has been racing well over this course and distance this term. Fabulous One gradually faded after being headed for the lead at the 200m. It wasn't a bad run but he's still trying to find his mark. Super Turbo made some ground late from the back without menacing. The big weight anchored him.
