Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (375) - TAI TONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
GOOD BEAUTY and PRETTY BAUHINIA made contact at the start.
GOOD BEAUTY then became unbalanced after bumping with HOME RUN which was taken out by SPEEDY LUCK.
PERFECT MATCH shifted in at the start, resulting in SUMSTREETSUMWHERE and WINSTON'S LAD being crowded for room.
From the outside barriers, SMART PATCH, MONSTER KAKA and LAKESHORE EAGLE were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 1000 Metres, SUMSTREETSUMWHERE was left racing wide and without cover.
Making the turn near the 900 Metres, KING OPIE was steadied away from the heels of CIRCUIT HASSLER (K Teetan) which shifted in when not properly clear.
K Teetan was severely reprimanded.
PRETTY BAUHINIA had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 350 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUMSTREETSUMWHERE.
KING OPIE and PERFECT MATCH were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

Trainer J Moore was fined the sum of $5,000 for breaching Track Work Regulations in that BEAUTY GENERATION (V380) had a cotton wool-like product applied under the bandages when that horse was worked on Saturday, 26 January 2019.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 23 January 2019 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of COME ON WONGCHOY, THE JOY OF GIVING, SWEET BEAN, SNAP FIT, GRACIOUS RYDER, GOLDEN CANNON, DASHING DART, NABOO STAR, LONDON MASTER, TRAVEL DATUK, HAPPY WARRIOR, CHARITY GRAND, ALPHA HEDGE, MUSIC ADDITION, KA YING LEGEND, BIGWOOD, NAMJONG PLUS, VIGOR FAME, BANK ON RED and ARCADA revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of CLEMENT LEGEND, GARLIC YEAH, NASHASHUK, SHOW MISSION, CARRY TO WIN, GLORY STAR, CLEAR CHOICE, TAI SMART, MARVEL JOY, C P POWER, GOOD FOR YOU, NAVAS, DOLLAR REWARD, GAMECHANGERS, WALDORF, PRANCE DRAGON, STAR OF JOY, POWERMAX, WARM THE VOICE and GREEN LUCK (16.1.19) proved negative.

King Opie just wore down Perfect Match following a one-out, one-back run to ring up a third win from his past four starts. His natural gate speed should aid him up in grade off a light weight. Favourite Perfect Match wouldn't go down without a fight after leading from a tricky gate. He ran well yet again up in grade following a Griffin Trophy win and there's clearly more to come. Punted late, Home Run came on well from midfield to fill a placing. He can bob up now and then but isn't far off a bottom. Good Beauty ran on all right after a one-off run worse than midfield to fill a Quartet spot. He ran all right but has limited upside off his current mark. Lakeshore Eagle came on well two from the right after settling one from the back from the widest gate. It was a good run in defeat up in grade over a longer trip and he's clearly got points in hand. Ultimate Glory was another to get too far back from a wide gate but was finishing well.
