Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (353) - PO HING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
After being loaded into the barriers, GREAT TREASURE became fractious and just prior to the start being effected lunged at the front gate, resulting in GREAT TREASURE being very slow to begin.
Before being allowed to race again, GREAT TREASURE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
FAMOUS WARRIOR began only fairly.
TURF SPRINT and TASHIDELEK bumped at the start.
After this, TURF SPRINT was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, KING PRINT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
KIRAM was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
After the 1300 Metres, PENANG HALL was eased away from the heels of LAST KINGDOM which was taken in by HIGH VOLATILITY (K C Leung).
K C Leung was advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground.
When racing wide and without cover, COMFORT LIFE was ridden along after the 1000 Metres to improve its position to race outside HIGH VOLATILITY near the 800 Metres.
At the 800 Metres, MAGNETISM was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 400 Metres, TASHIDELEK was awkwardly placed outside the heels of COMFORT LIFE (G van Niekerk) which shifted out when coming under pressure.
G van Niekerk stated that COMFORT LIFE had to work hard to obtain a forward position from the wide draw.
He said COMFORT LIFE lay out rounding the Home Turn and then gave ground noticeably in the Straight.
He added, in his opinion, COMFORT LIFE may be better suited over shorter distances so that the horse can relax and finish off the race better than it did on this occasion.
A veterinary inspection of COMFORT LIFE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Near the 350 Metres, TASHIDELEK was momentarily held up for clear running between COMFORT LIFE and UNICRON JEWELLERY which shifted in.
UNICRON JEWELLERY and COMFORT LIFE then raced tight near the 300 Metres.
Then passing the 200 Metres, COMFORT LIFE, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of UNICRON JEWELLERY.
Passing the 300 Metres, FAMOUS WARRIOR was shifted to the outside of SUPER GIANT after being awkwardly placed behind that horse which shifted in under pressure.
Passing the 100 Metres, GREAT TREASURE was shifted to the outside of TURF SPRINT.
Near the 50 Metres, PENANG HALL was bumped by KIRAM which shifted out away from the heels of LAST KINGDOM.
A veterinary inspection of HIGH VOLATILITY and GREAT TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
LAST KINGDOM, SACRED IBIS and FAMOUS WARRIOR were sent for sampling.

Well-backed late Sacred Ibis finished strongly down the outside after a patient ride third from the rear to win going away 50m out. He's good when right. Famous Warrior ran on well saving ground behind midfield on the fence to overhaul early favourite Super Giant in the final few metres for second. Super Giant move from behind midfield travelling outside Famous Warrior hit a flat spot 50m out. He isn't far off a winning run. Unicron Jewellery found a few too good following a one-off run fore of midfield. He ran his usual honest race but is clearly a better prospect in Class Four. Post-time favourite Last Kingdom peaked on his run 150m out after hitting the front 290m out chasing the leader High Volatility. He might not be too far off a bottom. Kiram ran on without menacing from near the back. He's capable of a big run but isn't genuine. High Volatility was struggling at the 200m leading from a middle gate.
