Recap by phillip woo
Beat The Clock just held off the always game Mr Stunning after hitting the front 150m out following a box-seat run. It was a deserving first win at the top level following numerous solid efforts. Favourite Mr Stunning eventually got going following a one-out, oneback run to make it close on the wire. It was another solid performance following a second HK Sprint win. Winner's Way came from last and widest out at the 400m to finish a distant third. It was a good effort but he's just a shade below the top sprinters. Fifty Fifty was just out-finished travelling second from the rear for third. He might be best suited over the 1,400m. Little Giant gave way 100m out after a surprise role in front. The tactics change backfired. D B Pin was stopping 150m out after rolling forward to park outside the leader at the 900m. He had an off day. Three-year-old Styling City never menaced travelling one-off in fifth. He wasn't ready to tackle the big boys at this point.
