Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (329) - CANNON HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
JADE THEATRE was withdrawn on 8.1.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LIMITLESS (S de Sousa).
Before being allowed to race again, JADE THEATRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
C Y Ho (SUPER TURBO) was fined the sum of $3,000 for initially weighing out without a girth and surcingle which required his saddle to be returned from the saddling area in order for him to be re-weighed.
MOMENT OF POWER shifted out at the start and inconvenienced STARLIGHT.
SAUL'S SPECIAL and TELECOM BROTHERS bumped shortly after the start.
From the outside barriers, SUPER TURBO, LIMITLESS and KEEP MOVING were all shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.
COUNTRY STAR travelled keenly in the early and middle stages.
Near the 850 Metres, SUPER HOPPY was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of SAUL'S SPECIAL which was then shifted out and ridden along to clear SUPER HOPPY.
Passing the 850 Metres, LIMITLESS got its head on the side and shifted in away from KEEP MOVING and consequently was very awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLD WIN.
Near the 50 Metres, FANTASTIC FEELING was steadied when disappointed for running between STORM SIGNAL and TELECOM BROTHERS, both of which shifted ground marginally.
This resulted in FANTASTIC FEELING being awkwardly placed close to the heels of STORM SIGNAL over the concluding stages and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
Passing the winning post, TELECOM BROTHERS shifted in and was checked away from the heels of STORM SIGNAL.
A veterinary inspection of LIMITLESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
COUNTRY STAR and SUPER HOPPY were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
An inquiry into Trainer P F Yiu being over his stable quota on Monday, 7 January 2019 and Tuesday, 8 January 2019 was adjourned until Mr Yiu, who currently is out of Hong Kong, is available to be interviewed.
Mr Yiu was advised that he has until close of business on Thursday, 10 January 2019 to ensure that his stable strength is not in breach of the regulations.

Omission from Racing Incidents Report of 6 January 2019 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 8 (319) Near the 950 Metres, TAI SMART was shifted in away from the heels of RED ELYSEES.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 6 January 2019 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of ROCHFORD, JIMSON THE FAMOUS, SUNNY ORIENT, THE FULL BLOOM, TRIUMPHANT LIGHT, JOLLY BANNER, STYLING CITY, JOYFUL CONTENDER, EVER STRONG, BORNTOACHIEVE, TOP LAURELS, MONGOLIAN LEGEND, RIGHT HONOURABLE, HURRICANE HUNTER, GOLDEN FOUR, ROYAL RACER, WINNING SUPREME, MICKEY RICH, DYNAMIC EAGLE, HAPPY ROCKY, FOLLOW ME, CORDYCEPS, CHARITY GO, KA YING STAR and EASY GO EASY WIN revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of REMARKABLE, ROMANTIC BONANZA, GRAND HARBOUR, RUMINARE, M REBORN, DIAMOND LEGEND, CHARIZARD, SPEEDY DRAGON, CHAIRMAN LO, ROYAL PREROGATIVE, MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR, ALCAZAR, I AM POWER, CALIFORNIA ARCHER, PEARL CHAMPION, WIN WIN, DANCING FIGHTER, EPTIWINS, TIANCHI MONSTER, GRAND CHANCELLOR, PEOPLE'S KNIGHT, RAGING BLITZKRIEG, MR SO AND SO and SUPERICH (29.12.18) proved negative.

Odds-on favourite Country Star responded nicely to take control 180m chasing the speed for a fourth win from seven starts. He's a very nice horse going forward. Wellbacked late Super Hoppy came on well from midfield to just nip Starlight for second. He showed his true colours with his favourite rider Zac Purton back on board. Starlight finished well near the inside following a midfield run to lose second by a whisker. Storm Signal had his chance following a prominent run on the fence. He doesn't know how to run a bad race and ran into some very smart performers over this Valley course. Super Turbo finished nicely after travelling second from the rear. He needs a stronger pace. Saul's Special held his ground travelling handy. He's on his mark after opening the campaign with a win four starts back. Telecom Brothers was on his tippy toes 100m out after taking over pressing the leader Moment Of Power at the 200m.
