Recap by phillip woo

Money Winner finished nicely two from the outside after being ridden for luck from a wide gate to win going away at the 150m for a maiden success at his 24th start. Indigenous Star stayed on well from behind midfield to just take second from favourite Dashing Dart despite copping a sharp bump by that rival 300m out. Dashing Dart was caught in a blanket finish for the minor after proving a very difficult ride for Joao Moreira when laying in badly at the 350m with a move from near the back. Little Fantasy stayed on well to just miss a placing. Young Glory came on strongly late down the outside from the rear of the field. He can produce an eye-catching run now and then. Adonis was yielding ground 100m out after getting a soft time in front. The big weight anchored him.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (302) - KOWLOON PEAK HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters

INDIGENOUS STAR began awkwardly.

From wide barriers, DASHING DART and MONEY WINNER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

OTOUTO and BEST EFFORT bumped at the start.

A short distance later, TRIUMPH shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of OTOUTO, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.

TRIUMPH then shifted out which resulted in YOUNG GLORY momentarily racing tight inside INDIGENOUS STAR.

Near the 1400 Metres, LAUGH OUT LORD got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of BEST EFFORT.

At the 600 Metres, DASHING DART was bumped on the hindquarters by MONEY WINNER which raced in restricted room between DASHING DART and LAUGH OUT LORD which shifted out.

Passing the 600 Metres, MONEY WINNER was awkwardly placed behind INDIGENOUS STAR.

Near the 350 Metres, BEST EFFORT was crowded for room between LITTLE FANTASY and INDIGENOUS STAR which was taken in by DASHING DART (J Moreira) which, when laying in, shifted in before being corrected.

J Moreira was reprimanded and advised that, in the opinion of the Stewards, he should have straightened his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.

Apprentice H T Mo (TRIUMPH) was reprimanded for unnecessarily using the whip on a horse out of contention.

Apprentice Mo was advised that should he offend again in the near future, further action will be taken.

After the race, it was noted that TRIUMPH had a swelling on the right hindquarter.

The Veterinary Officer reported that, in his opinion, this swelling was not attributable to Apprentice Mo's use of the whip.

DASHING DART, MONEY WINNER and INDIGENOUS STAR were sent for sampling.
