Recap by phillip woo
Firming favourite Perfect Match chased and overhauled Quadruple Double 100m out for a third win from four starts. He's versatile and the future's bright. Quadruple Double kept on gamely for second after a well-rated run in front. He did benefit from a pipeopener last month over this trip and a victory is imminent. In a vastly-improved secondup effort, Murray's Partners came from midfield to snatch third from second favourite Witness Hunter. He's heading in the right direction. Witness Hunter was just out-finished for a placing after travelling a bit keenly in the run third from the rear following a sluggish break. He ran below expectations but is still a work in progress. Le Terroir only held his ground following a prominent run. He was in too tough. Nordic Warrior made some ground down the outside from the rear of the field. He wasn't quite ready to tackle the 1,400m yet.
