Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (282) - PAK TAM AU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
PING HAI TREASURE shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped heavily with DELIGHT EXPRESS which was severely crowded onto WINNING ENDEAVOUR which was also badly hampered.
From the outside barrier, AMAZING LUCK was steadied and shifted across behind runners soon after the start.
Passing the 1100 Metres, DELIGHT EXPRESS was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of THUNDER STOMP which shifted in.
Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, MAGNIFICENT, which was travelling keenly, was steadied away from the heels of EIGHTY EIGHTY which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of KING OPIE.
After the 900 Metres, THUNDER STOMP was left racing wide and without cover.
In the early part of the Straight, GENEROUS HEART was awkwardly placed behind PING HAI TREASURE which commenced to give ground.
In the Straight, MAGNIFICENT hung in and proved difficult to ride.
A veterinary inspection of GOOD BEAUTY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
A veterinary inspection of EIGHTY EIGHTY and PING HAI TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KING OPIE and HOME RUN were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 8, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Yielding?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 8 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding??

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 19 December 2018 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of MI BLANCO, CORRE RAPIDO, STAR SUPERIOR, ROCHFORD, SUNSHINE UNIVERSE, GOOD FIT, RADIANT BUNNY.
NICE KICK, WINNING SUPREME, HEARTS KEEPER, GOLDEN EFFORT, JOYFUL CONTENDER, REMARKABLE, ZILONG, WILLIE WAY, GUNNISON, PERPETUAL TREASURE, RAGING BLITZKRIEG and GOLDIE FLANKER revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of DOCTORS DELIGHT, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS, COME ON WONGCHOY, WALDORF, NOBLE DELIGHT, INDIGENOUS STAR, SPINNING DANCER, LUCKY STORM, APPLAUSE, BETTER CHOICE, DYNAMIC EAGLE, SMART BABY, GOLDEN KID, COMPLACENCY, SPEED VISION, BUOYANT BOY, GENTLE BREEZE, TELECOM BROTHERS, CALIFORNIA ARCHER, SKY MELODY, DANCES WITH DRAGON and MY ALLY (12.12.18) proved negative.

Favourite King Opie kept finding after assuming the lead 300m out chasing the leaders to notch a third win from eight starts despite a rise in trip. Home Run found one better on the day with a late move from behind midfield. It was a good effort and he'll be hard to beat when striking a more suitable fast surface. Smart Leader stayed on well travelling better than midfield to nearly take second in an improved performance with late-market action. He likely enjoyed the wet going. Winning Endeavour came from last to finish a distant fourth. He's hit the line with purpose in both starts on wet tracks but is still acclimatising. High Volatility was stopping inside the last 150m after working too hard to lead from Ping Hai Treasure 900m out. He had excuses. Well-backed late Generous Heart made only a mild bid from behind midfield. He's Class Four material. Good Beauty found nothing following a midfield run on the fence.
