Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (271) - PENFOLD PARK HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
BIG TIME BABY began only fairly.
NOT LISTENIN'TOME began only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of GUNNISON which shifted out after being bumped by KEEP MOVING.
After this, NOT LISTENIN'TOME failed to muster speed despite being ridden along.
From wide barriers, CALCULATION and FIGHT HERO were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After travelling a short distance, BIG TIME BABY shifted out after brushing JOLLY GENE and in doing so bumped FABULOUS ONE.
FABULOUS ONE got its head on the side and lay out making the turn near the 700 Metres and consequently lost ground when checked away from the heels of GUNNISON which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of JOLLY GENE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY GENE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of NOT LISTENIN'TOME immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg.

GUNNISON and PERPETUAL TREASURE were sent for sampling.

Favourite Gunnison won going away 300m out after ridden as the best horse covering ground in a prominent spot. Perpetual Treasure stuck on nicely for second after handing up the front 750m out to Jumbo Luck. He rarely produces a bad run sprinting on this surface but isn't far off a top. In his season debut Mission Tycoon stayed on well for third following a deep run fore of midfield. He'll come on for this run but do prefer him on the turf. Fight Hero came with a bold run late from the rear of the field to snatch fourth on the wire. The task was too great carrying top weight going back from a wide gate. Big Time Baby had his chance following a box-seat run. It wasn't a bad effort but this was a harder task following a sharp penalty last time out. Calculation ran on steadily without menacing following a deep run with cover in midfield. Jumbo Luck was on his tippy toes 100m out after pressing forward to lead approaching the 700m from a wide gate.
