Wishful Thinker came from last at the 800m to snatch victory from Jumbo Luck 20m out for back-to-back wins. He's an effective sprinter up to 1,200m at both tracks but may need to take on the top guns soon. Jumbo Luck found one too good after surging to the lead chasing the leader approaching the 200m. He's an honest sprinter. Plunged to jump favourite Bravo Watchman grudgingly gave way after showing superior gate speed to lead outright from gate two. He doesn't know how to produce a bad run over this trip. Saul's Special stayed on a non-threatening fourth following a handy run near the stands side. He seems a bit more effective nowadays over the Valley 1,000m. Not Listenin'tome was gone 150m out after looming a chance at the 350m travelling near the speed on the stands side. His best years are well behind him. Infinity Endeavour made some ground without menacing over an unsuitable trip. He's one to keep safe.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (201) - CHEVALIER CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters

JUMBO LUCK shifted out abruptly at the start and made heavy contact with SAUL'S SPECIAL which became unbalanced.

JUMBO LUCK then became unbalanced after being bumped by BREEDERS' STAR which shifted out.

SAUL'S SPECIAL then continued to race tight outside JUMBO LUCK in the early stages.

KEEP MOVING shifted out at the start and bumped BALTIC WHISPER.

WISHFUL THINKER was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

In the early and middle stages, BRAVO WATCHMAN raced with its head on the side and lay out.

After the race, Z Purton was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of BALTIC WHISPER.

He said BALTIC WHISPER did not travel as strongly in today's race as it did when he had ridden it previously and then gave ground noticeably over the latter stages of the race.

A veterinary inspection of BALTIC WHISPER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BRAVO WATCHMAN, WISHFUL THINKER and JUMBO LUCK were sent for sampling.
