Recap by phillip woo
Raging favourite Beauty Generation eased out of a speed battle to settle third from the back, rushed forward at the 1,000m to park outside the leader The Golden Age 800m out and drew clear 400m out despite laying out under pressure to win in track record time. He was the best without anything going right and will be hard to beat in next month's HK Mile. Southern Legend stayed on well to edge Beauty Only for second following a midfield run. He relished the step back up to a mile but will need to lift if he is to challenge the winner in up-and-coming races. Beauty Only came up one-paced in the last 100m with his move from the rear of the pack to just miss second. He was suited by the pace but isn't getting any younger. Singapore Sling ran on a distant fourth travelling midfield on the fence. He was outclassed in this set weights contest. Seasons Bloom made some ground without menacing racing second from the rear.
