Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (180) - TOKYO HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Meters
VOLPINO began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of BEAUTY PRINCE.
After this, VOLPINO was shifted across behind runners.
SUPER CHIC shifted out at the start and bumped SHARP SAILOR.
From the outside barriers, LITTERATEUR and FAST MOST FURIOUS were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
A short distance after the start, JADE FORTUNE shifted out and bumped BEAUTY PRINCE.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, LITTERATEUR and SHARP SAILOR raced tight.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, LAND GRANT brushed the running rail and became unbalanced.
When being shifted to the inside of LAND GRANT passing the 300 Metres, RED WARRIOR raced tight inside that horse which got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
Throughout the race, JADE FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of JADE FORTUNE and LAND GRANT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RED WARRIOR, SUPER CHIC and TURIN REDSTAR were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 10 November 2018 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of CLEMENT LEGEND, PEARL FURU, HAPPY TOUR, HONEST WAY, GLITTERING ARMOUR, RIGHT CHOICE, FLYING GODSPELL, VICTORY MACHINE, MUSIC ADDITION, WITNESS HUNTER, CITY LEGEND, YOU HAVE MY WORD, BRING IT ON, TAKING AIM, HIGH VOLATILITY, LITTLE GIANT, RATTAN, CONTE, NUCLEAR POWER, SUPER MAN, HAPPY SEBRING, STARSHIP and KIRAM revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of HAINAN STAR, PERFECT MATCH, QUADRUPLE DOUBLE, DIAMOND MASTER, MULTIMILLION, INDIGENOUS STAR, CHIU CHOW KID, BEST EFFORT, RIGHTEOUS MATE, LET US WIN, EVER LAUGH, SMILING PRIDE, FOLLOW ME, STYLING CITY, FANTASTIC EIGHT, TIME WARP, GLORIOUS FOREVER, HO HO KHAN, NEW ELEGANCE, ALCARI, MR WEALTH, RELENTLESS ME, SUPERICH, DRAGON GENERAL and GREEN ENERGY (4.11.18) proved negative.

Super Chic came on nicely from beyond midfield to get the bob down in the last stride for an overdue win after putting the writing on the wall first-up this term over the 1,800m. Turin Redstar did everything right following a box-seat run but get the win for a fourth straight runner-up result over this Valley trip. He only needs a change of luck to be saluting. Red Warrior found a couple too smart following a midfield run along the fence. It wasn't a bad run in defeat. Litterateur ran on well from near the back to fill a Quartet spot. He rarely produces a bad run over this course but may be near his mark. Fast Most Furious ran on without menacing from the rear of the field. The step up to a mile was a bit too far. Volpino finished well despite taking the final bend very wide following a patient ride second from the rear. Specked late, Land Grant gradually gave way over the last 150m after dictating the run from gate one. The step up in class was too much.
