Superior Boy dashed clear at the 200m following a prominent run to finally open his win account at start 32 following minor placings 10 times. Honest sort and should remain competitive up in class off a light weight. My Honey kept on nicely to hold second after setting a genuine pace in front. He can get away with a race shortly on either surface in this grade. Sweet Bean just out-finished Mi Blanco following a patient ride third from the rear to fill a placing. He rarely produces a bad run in this grade. Mi Blanco finished well after travelling deep fourth from the rear to nearly place. He has trouble winning but has honest form on this surface. Post-time favourite Jimson The Famous came up onepaced over the last 150m after looming at least a place chance upon straight following a rail run behind midfield. He's not easy to get right. Early favourite Master Bernini gave way over the last 150m after working too hard to park outside the leader.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (137) - WA MEI SHAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

SINCERE HORSE began very awkwardly and shifted out abruptly, causing VICTORY FOLLOW ME to be checked when crowded for room inside MAGIC AGILITY and resulting in SINCERE HORSE also losing ground.

SUNNY ORIENT shifted out at the start and bumped MI BLANCO which was crowded for room inside MY HONEY.

From wide barriers, SWEET BEAN, GOLDEN CANNON and FOREVER POSH were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Despite being vigorously ridden for a considerable distance in the early stages, GENTLEMEN was slow to muster speed and passing the 1400 Metres was steadied to obtain cover.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, MASTER BERNINI and SUNNY ORIENT were crowded for room between GENTLEMEN and MY HONEY (Apprentice H T Mo) which shifted in when not properly clear.

Apprentice Mo was reprimanded.

Passing the 1200 Metres, GOLDEN CANNON got its head up when awkwardly placed behind MI BLANCO.

After the 1200 Metres, MAGIC AGILITY was left racing wide and without cover.

Over the final 100 Metres, SWEET BEAN was taken wider by MI BLANCO (U Rispoli) which shifted out under pressure.

U Rispoli was advised that he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances.

The performances of MAGIC AGILITY and SINCERE HORSE, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC AGILITY and SINCERE HORSE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of VICTORY FOLLOW ME immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

The performance of VICTORY FOLLOW ME, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, VICTORY FOLLOW ME will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of SOCCER BRAVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that JIMSON THE FAMOUS had finished distressed.

Before being allowed to race again, JIMSON THE FAMOUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

JIMSON THE FAMOUS, SUPERIOR BOY and MY HONEY were sent for sampling.
