Favourite King Genki just reeled in Tang Fleming in the final bound following a handy run. The step up to the mile with the 10-pound claimer on top was the key to victory. Tang Fleming wouldn't go down without a fight after taking over the lead from Sixty Sixty at the 200m following a pace-stalking run. He pops up now and then. Sixty Sixty grudgingly gave way after dictating the run. He's making steady progress on his three starts this term. Imperial Concorde made some ground without menacing from behind midfield. He needed the run. Well-backed late Hang's Decision had his chance following a prominent run on the fence. He might be on his mark following back-to-back failures but gets at least one more chance over the 1,400m, a distance he won over on opening day. Zilong made some ground without menacing after a deep run near the back. He requires a longer trip. Whampoa Star was making headway late from the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (81) - POPLAR HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

PENANG HALL was withdrawn on 6.10.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).

Before being allowed to race again, PENANG HALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HANG'S DECISION jumped out at the start and bumped KING GENKI.

GOOD FOR YOU began awkwardly and then shifted out on jumping, bumping heavily with WHAMPOA STAR which was hampered and taken out onto CHIMBORAA which was also inconvenienced.

CHIMBORAA, ZILONG and BIZ POWER were all steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, BIZ POWER was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ZILONG which shifted out away from IMPERIAL CONCORDE.

Throughout the race, MCMUNIGAL travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of CHIMBORAA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of CHIMBORAA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, CHIMBORAA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

KING GENKI and TANG FLEMING were sent for sampling.
