Amazing Gold took control 100m out following a box-seat run for a first win at his 23rd start. He's improved under rookie trainer Jimmy Ting Koon-ho and might have points in hand. Early favourite Chiu Chow Kid stayed on well to finish a close second after improving from beyond midfield to sit handy at the 700m. It was a solid effort stepping up in distance carrying top weight and he'll be winning shortly in this class. Wonderful Chaser overhauled Mega Treasure late for fourth after a well-executed ride to sit one-out, oneback from a tricky gate. He rarely produces a bad run over this Valley trip. Mega Treasure grudgingly gave way after getting an easy time in front. He's in the right grade but the mile will suit him better. Hit late to start favourite Top Ace ran on without menacing following a midfield run. He can bob up now and then on either surface but has trouble winning. Dutch Windmill didn't get the trip following a handy run on the fence.
