Recap by phillip woo

Audacity rushed home after peeling into the open at the 350m following a prominent run to overhaul favourite Play It 120m out to remain unbeaten in three career starts over this Sha Tin trip. Play It couldn't match the winner after taking off from behind midfield at the 1,100m to find the front 900m out. Good Fit came from near last to fill a placing at odds in a rare positive effort on the turf. Bullish Glory took off soon after Play It travelling fourth last following a slow break to get to second at the top of the straight but was on his tippy toes 100m out. He has to correct his antics at the start and seems better suited over the 1,800m. In his best run to date, Enjoyable Success got going one from the back to just miss a First-4 spot. The step to 2,000m suited but he's likely to need more education. Punted late, Pearl Furu was gone 200m out after getting softened to his outside through slick fractions by Royal Chocolate. He had excuses but does find it harder in this class.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (742) - TATE'S CAIRN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 2000Meters

BULLISH GLORY bounded in the air at the start, became unbalanced and lost ground.

ENJOYABLE SUCCESS began awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Also from a wide barrier, HAPPY ROCKY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, GOOD FIT was taken wider by BULLISH GLORY which shifted out to improve behind PLAY IT.

SUM WIN DRAGON lost its left front plate after the 1100 Metres.

After being crossed by PLAY IT approaching the 900 Metres, ROYAL CHOCOLATE commenced to give ground abruptly, resulting in SUPER LUCKY being awkwardly placed behind that horse passing the 900 Metres.

Near the 750 Metres, THE SYLPH got its head up when being shifted in away from behind ROYAL CHOCOLATE which was continuing to give ground.

Then near the 650 Metres, THE SYLPH was shifted out across the heels of ROYAL CHOCOLATE to improve.

Near the 650 Metres, SUPER LUCKY was taken wider and without cover by AUDACITY which shifted out.

Rounding the Home Turn, SUM WIN DRAGON and GOOD FIT raced tight.

Passing the 400 Metres, SUM WIN DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of SUPER LUCKY and then shifted to the inside of that horse after initially being disappointed for running between SUPER LUCKY and GOOD FIT.

After the race, D Whyte said that SUPER LUCKY was making an abnormal breathing noise during the race.

An endoscopic examination of SUPER LUCKY did not reveal any significant findings, however, the horse was found to have a wound to the outside of the left hind heel bulb.

A veterinary inspection of ROYAL CHOCOLATE immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, ROYAL CHOCOLATE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

AUDACITY and PLAY IT were sent for sampling.
