Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (740) - POK FU LAM RESERVOIR ROAD HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
ACCLAIMED LIGHT shifted out at the start and bumped FAITHFUL TRINITY which then shifted out, resulting in GONNA RUN being checked.
NEW ELEGANCE began only fairly.
From wide barriers, NAMJONG PLUS, GOLD LAND and FIAMA were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 1200 Metres, FAITHFUL TRINITY was left racing wide and without cover.
At the entrance to the Straight, NAMJONG PLUS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of DYNAMIC EAGLE and then passing the 400 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of KING OF MONGOLIA as that horse shifted out when giving ground.
Near the 250 Metres, ACCLAIMED LIGHT was momentarily held up for clear running behind KING OF MONGOLIA and NAMJONG PLUS.
Over the final 100 Metres, NEW ELEGANCE got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.
Passing the 100 Metres, UNICRON JEWELLERY was directed out away from the heels of NAMJONG PLUS due to both horses shifting ground.
When UNICRON JEWELLERY shifted out, FAITHFUL TRINITY, which was following, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse and consequently was not able to be ridden out over the concluding stages.
The performance of KING OF MONGOLIA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, KING OF MONGOLIA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of DYNAMIC EAGLE and KING OF MONGOLIA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GLORIOUS FOREVER and TRAVEL FIRST were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Glorious Forever coasted home much the best after setting class record sections in front. This brother to Hong Kong Cup winner Time Warp is heading places. Travel First stuck on gamely after a box-seat run carrying a light weight to give the Quinella some value. He's usually better on the dirt but appears from this run to be near a bottom. Namjong Plus just out-finished Gonna Run travelling outside that one behind midfield for third. He's still learning but clearly has the tools to add to a Class Four win. Gonna Run took the shorter route home but had to settle for fourth. He's a better miler. Plunged late New Elegance only held his ground following a midfield run. He's on his mark. Unicorn Jewellery couldn't turn it up another gear travelling worse than midfield with cover. Fiama got too far back from a wide gate in a race where the speed was not stopping.
