Top Beautiful was too good after going forward very wide from gate 14 to clear to the front at the 1,000m. He's pretty honest and got away with an uncontested lead. Invincible Fresh got the better of Green Card 150m out for second following a prominent run with cover. He lived up to a placing last time out and could get away with race before the curtain drops on this season. Well-backed late Green Card grudgingly gave way following a tactics change to sit second in the run from a wide gate. Smiling Charm just failed to get up for a placing after travelling behind midfield without cover the entire trip. He rarely produces a bad run but will require a return to Class Four to consider him on a win line. Raging favourite Sacred Ibis made a mild bid travelling fourth from the rear. He didn't get the race run to suit. Ho Ho Khan closed off reasonably well after travelling third from the rear on debut here. He has some raw ability and is moulded to be a miler in time.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (741) - POK FU LAM COUNTRY PARK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

BEAUTY TRUST was withdrawn on 15.6.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SMILING CHARM (C Schofield).

Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY TRUST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Whilst in the saddling stalls, SUMSTREETSUMWHERE had its left front plate refitted.

SUMSTREETSUMWHERE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

ALL GREAT FRIENDS, which began only fairly, was crowded for room on jumping by RIGHT CALL which shifted in after beginning awkwardly.

From wide barriers, MONICA, NAVAS and SUMSTREETSUMWHERE were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

For some distance approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, CHEERS TREASURE travelled very keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SACRED IBIS.

A veterinary inspection of SACRED IBIS immediately following the race found the horse to have sustained a small wound to the outside of the left hind cannon.

Passing the 800 Metres, ALL GREAT FRIENDS travelled keenly and after the 700 Metres was checked away from the heels of BANK ON RED.

Near the 650 Metres, SUMSTREETSUMWHERE and SACRED IBIS raced very tight as SACRED IBIS shifted out to follow SMILING CHARM.

Passing the 150 Metres, the whip of O Doleuze (BANK ON RED) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of C Schofield (SMILING CHARM).

Throughout the race, SMILING CHARM travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, Z Purton reported that SACRED IBIS changed stride on a number of occasions during the race and then when placed under pressure in the Straight did not quicken as it did at its last start when successful.

A veterinary inspection of RIGHT CALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SACRED IBIS, TOP BEAUTIFUL and INVINCIBLE FRESH were sent for sampling.

After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Firm?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm??
