Recap by phillip woo

Short-priced favourite Raging Storm won going away 100m out following a handy run to ring up a third win from five starts despite a sharp rise in weight. He's got more points in hand. California Archer found one too good after dictating the run with the hood coming off. He's returned an improved runner at only his third start following a suspensory injury in January. Super Wise finished well after peeling into the open approaching the 200m following a one-off run travelling behind midfield. Iron Boy closed off well one from the right after travelling fourth from the rear. He's yet to run a bad race three times over this Sha Tin trip. Victory Machine grudgingly gave way inside the last 100m after facing the breeze three deep without cover the entire trip outside the leading pair from a wide gate. Lucky Hero kept on all right after being held up for a run until the last 150m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (684) - VIVA PATACA HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

As the start was effected, SALTO OLIMPICO reared and lost a considerable amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, SALTO OLIMPICO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

MAGIC POWER, which was fractious in the barriers, began only fairly.

IRON BOY began only fairly.

HAPPY HAPPY STAR began awkwardly.

VICTORY MACHINE shifted out at the start and inconvenienced TELECOM BROTHERS.

Near the 800 Metres, SUPER WISE commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of LUCKY HERO into tight running between that horse and EAGLE.

This resulted in SUPER WISE racing in restricted room for some distance approaching the 700 Metres.

Near the 750 Metres, LUCKY HERO lost ground when momentarily tightened for room inside RAGING STORM which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TELECOM BROTHERS.

IRON BOY lost its right front plate in the middle stages.

IRON BOY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

At the 200 Metres, LUCKY HERO was shifted to the outside of PATCH BABY to obtain clear running.

Throughout the race, VICTORY MACHINE travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that MAGIC POWER had sustained a laceration to the right hind stifle.

A veterinary inspection of PATCH BABY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

RAGING STORM and CALIFORNIA ARCHER were sent for sampling.
