EAGLE WAY shifted out at the start and bumped CHEMICAL CHARGE.
PAKISTAN STAR and EXULTANT were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Pakistan Star easily overhaul Exultant at the 250m travelling sweetly in second to win with something in hand. He's a serious horse when right. Exultant did all the work in front but found one better on the day. He's always going to be a chance at 1,800m and further. Gold Mount came from last to take third. The 1,800m to 2,400m suits him but he needs a stronger pace. Eagle Way had his chance settling behind the eventual winner but came up one-paced over the final 150m. He's a good stayer but does find it hard at this level. Chemical Charge did not fire travelling second last.
