Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (646) - COTAI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
FAMOUS WARRIOR shifted out at the start and bumped MARZOUQ.
From the outside barriers, DARK KNIGHT and MAGIC POWER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1200 Metres, MAGIC POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DARK KNIGHT.
HO HO FEEL lost both front plates near the 500 Metres.
After the 1000 Metres, NEW ELEGANCE commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of NAMJONG PLUS when awkwardly placed behind that horse.
NEW ELEGANCE was then able to shift in to resume its position behind NAMJONG PLUS after the 900 Metres.
Close to the finishing line, GO BEAUTY GO shifted out under pressure.
After the race, C Schofield stated that it was intended for NEW ELEGANCE to be ridden in a forward position.
He said however that the horse began only fairly and then despite being ridden along he was not able to obtain as forward a position as it had been anticipated.
He said the tempo of the race was not strong in the middle stages and NEW ELEGANCE travelled keenly.
He said he considered that these factors were attributable to the horse not being able to finish off the race.
A veterinary inspection of NEW ELEGANCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FAMOUS WARRIOR, GO BEAUTY GO and NITRO EXPRESS were sent for sampling.

Go Beauty Go kept finding after being gifted an easy time in front to hold off Nitro Express for a fifth career win with the claim well utilised back over his favourite distance. Fancied late in betting, Nitro Express was closing with every stride following a box-seat run. He's run well in back-to-back Sha Tin runs and needs to be kept safe with a return to his preferred Valley track. Favourite Famous Warrior produced a grinding effort following a prominent run. It was a below par performance following a move to blinkers. Marzouq gave ground last 100m stalking the leader. He's starting to come around in his three outings but is likely one for next season. Heroic Guru made a mild bid travelling worse than midfield on the fence. He's beyond his better days but Class Four next time out may spark improvement. Namjong Plus was one-paced when popped the question travelling fore of midfield. The rise in class and slow pace went against him.
