Recap by phillip woo

Second favourite Beat The Clock came from last to run down favourite Mr Stunning 50m out for a deserving first win at group level. He's a Group One winner waiting to happen. Mr Stunning surged to the lead at the 150m following a speed-chasing run but found one just better in the end. The five-pound swing in the weights was the difference in the end. Bottom-rated Winner's Way came on very well despite being held up early straight after travelling third from the rear to fill a placing. It was a huge run and his versatility gives him options going forward. Peniaphobia finished up a distant fourth after getting his own way on the lead. He's clearly beyond his better days. Born In China made some ground without menacing after settling beyond midfield. It was a decent effort but he's clearly better at the Valley. Amazing Kids never came on from near the back. It was a below par performance and he might have had issues.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (554) - THE SPRINT CUP - Class G2 - 1200Meters

NOT LISTENIN'TOME was crowded for room on jumping between MR STUNNING and PENIAPHOBIA which shifted in.

WINNER'S WAY began only fairly.

From a wide barrier, BEAT THE CLOCK was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Also from the outside barrier, AMAZING KIDS was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners, however, subsequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

A veterinary inspection of AMAZING KIDS immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??and also to be lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING KIDS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Near the 950 Metres, NOT LISTENIN'TOME was awkwardly placed behind MR STUNNING.

Making the turn near the 900 Metres, BEAT THE CLOCK was steadied away from the heels of BORN IN CHINA which got its head up when also travelling close to the heels of NOT LISTENIN'TOME.

BORN IN CHINA continued to be awkwardly placed behind NOT LISTENIN'TOME for some distance after the 900 Metres when travelling keenly and proving difficult to settle.

Rounding the Home Turn, WINNER'S WAY was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of DUNDONNELL when being shifted to the outside of that horse.

Passing the 400 Metres, BORN IN CHINA and AMAZING KIDS momentarily raced tight inside BEAT THE CLOCK which got its head on the side and shifted in.

After this, BEAT THE CLOCK continued to lay in under pressure.

WINNER'S WAY had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

BEAT THE CLOCK and MR STUNNING were sent for sampling.
